Miss Joanne McBride, Owner (Hip Hop, Jazz, Theatre, Pre-ballet/Tap, Twistin Two's)
Miss Joanne McBride, has been dancing since the age of 2 at Joanna’s Studio of Dance in South Philadelphia, PA. She has been taught and influenced through the years by Joanna Gargano and Renee DeJohn. Joanne has also been trained technically at Koresh and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Joanne began teaching at Joanna’s at 13 years old, where she assisted Joanna in her classes. When Joanne was sixteen she started teaching her own hip hop classes at Joanna’s which was only the start of her teaching experience. In 2005 Joanne graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School where she quickly returned to become the choreographer for their theater society. Joanne is still working at Carroll where they produce a fall and spring musical yearly. She also is the director and choreographer for Archbishop Carroll’s Dance Company. Joanne also has done choreography at St. Phillip Neri grade school, La Salle University, and Immaculata University. Joanne welcomes all students at any age, any level to come dance at Power Surge where they will learn technique while having fun with a personable, caring staff!
Mr. David (Tap, Salsa, Ballroom)
David Pershica has been a professional dancer and educator for the past 15 years. Educated at West Chester University, he also studied dance with the Legendary Dr. Henry LeTang and Dein Perry. David has performed in four national tours, in Las Vegas and London and has worked on several Broadway Shows, including: Smokey Joe's Cafe, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera. David specializes in "hoofing" tap and is a member of the International Tap Association.
